Fifteen days, the length of Vietnam, and a rhythm built for travelling with children rather than around them.

The country changes shape as you go. It opens in Saigon, loud and fast, then drops into the Mekong Delta where the roads run out and everything happens on water. It flattens into three days at Nha Trang with a boat trip and two days of nothing. It tightens again on the central coast: Hoi An's ancient town, small enough to walk end to end, and the imperial city at Hue with its tombs scattered through the hills. Then Hanoi, older and denser than Saigon, and a night on Ha Long Bay among the limestone.

Three flights do the heavy lifting so the driving days stay short. Three days are left entirely open.

Fifteen days is enough to travel Vietnam the length of the country without rushing it, and this route does exactly that. It opens in the south with Saigon and two days in the Mekong Delta, where the roads give way to water. It flies to Nha Trang for three days of beach and boat with nothing scheduled in the middle. It moves to the central coast for Hoi An's ancient town and the Nguyen dynasty capital at Hue, crossing the Hai Van Pass on the way. Then north to Hanoi, out to Ha Long Bay for a night aboard, and back to the Old Quarter to finish. Three domestic flights carry the distance so the road days stay short, and three full free days are built in on purpose, because fifteen days of scheduled activity is more than most families want.

AFTERNOON: HO CHI MINH CITY FAMILY ARRIVAL

The Vietnam Family and Leisure Tour begins in Ho Chi Minh City - a city that works well for family travel with its street-level energy, easy food variety, and the mix of colonial architecture and modern development that gives children a compelling first impression of Vietnamese urban life.

  • Arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport and transfer to the District 1 hotel (30-45 minutes): District 1 is the safest and most walkable area for family groups with the pedestrianised Nguyen Hue Boulevard running from the City Hall to the Saigon River waterfront
  • First evening: Nguyen Hue Walking Street for the family-friendly street food and the Ben Thanh Market night market adjacent to the south end of the street; the rooftop bars of the Bitexco Tower skip list if families with young children prefer the riverside promenade walk instead
  • Hotel facilities and rest: the District 1 hotels used by Meetup Travel all have pools with family areas suitable for the first evening recovery after the international flights

Honeymoon holiday

Had the pleasure of Meetup Travel organising our Honeymoon holiday from Hanoi to Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City. Phoenix was my first point of contact & he organised our itinerary from beginning to end. We were then introduced to his Team Lead Kim who with the rest of her team carried us through our travels answering all our questions everywhere we went. Beautiful Sapa & Hot Hot Hanoi

Visited Sapa in July 2026, as it is a wedding anniversary holiday, we decided to get a travel agent to plan the whole trip for us. It was a 6D5N trip to Sapa and Hanoi. So Shirley planned the itinerary for us; 3N in Sapa and 2N in Hanoi, with visits to many attractions in Sapa based on our likes and dont..🤭. She is very accommodating to our requests and make amendments to the itinerary during our discussions and also make good recommendations: where to go in July, where to take nice pictures etc etc (and we really took many nice pictures throughout the trip). As weather in July is not ideal, there are places which she advised us against visiting so it will not be wasted trips…truthfully recommendations. Then there was Stella who briefed me through the whole itinerary before our trip so that we are well prepared and also things to look out for while in Sapa and Hanoi as we travelled without a tour guide. That was very helpful as it was our 1st time to Sapa and Hanoi. She also keep checking on us to make sure we were doing fine ourselves, we were at the right locations without any tour guides. The whole experience was seamless from the time we touched down at the airport to the bus journey to Sapa, our trips to all the recommended attractions to our way back to Hanoi and finally back home. During the whole trip it was fuss-free as everything was well arranged for us ie the drivers were on time to pick us and brought us around, the lunch arrangements and access to the attractions etc, it’s all so efficient…we really enjoyed the whole trip and was surprised that all went well with no hiccups 👍. The team did a fantastic job with all the arrangements that made it a delightful holiday for us!! Lastly, the price for the whole package is reasonable with excellent service!

SuperB experience

Vietnam was absolutely beautiful, and the people were so warm, kind, and welcoming. 🇻🇳❤️ Booking through Meet Up Travel was also a different experience from the usual travel agency. From the very beginning, I shared my dietary requirements and made quite a number of changes to the itinerary, and they were always so accommodating and patient with all my requests. They even went through the entire itinerary carefully with us to make sure everything was well arranged and the trip would run as smoothly as possible. What I really appreciated was how they were always there whenever we had any questions or needed help. It genuinely felt like having a Vietnamese friend we could turn to throughout the trip someone who was just a message away and always ready to help. Is this journey a good starting point for you?

The honest version

Three of the fifteen days have nothing scheduled. That is deliberate and it is the part families rate highest afterwards. Meetup Travel can fill any of them on request, but the recommendation is to leave at least two empty.

A good starting point if you are

  • Families who want to see the whole country once and see it properly. Everything is private, the pace alternates hard days with genuinely empty ones, and the beach section sits in the middle where it does the most good. Also strong for multigenerational groups, since the walking is optional almost everywhere and the transfers are short.

Say so early if you

  • If you would rather settle into one place and get to know it, this is not that trip. Fifteen days across seven bases means a new view every couple of days and three short domestic flights, which is what makes the full sweep of the country possible. Families who want a slower single-base holiday will be happier on one of our beach itineraries, and Meetup Travel is glad to point you there.

The next step asks for real detail. Your dates, who is travelling, how you like to move, what you would change about this route. It takes a few minutes to fill in, because a local expert writes your itinerary from those answers rather than sending you a file. Nothing is booked or charged at this stage.

Before you get in touch

Three domestic flights, all short. Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho to Nha Trang lands at Cam Ranh Airport, roughly 35km south of Nha Trang. Nha Trang to Da Nang takes about an hour, followed by a 30km road transfer to Hoi An. Hue to Hanoi departs from Phu Bai Airport and takes about an hour and twenty minutes. Domestic flights are included. International flights are not.
